Update to Google Classroom start up

Well, our startup was delayed due to me needing more time to complete the Level 2 Google Certification. By the time, I was able to get it all passed, we were into our 1st term too far and felt it best to wait for the 2nd term. 2nd term arrived and we have made the transition into Google Classroom. It was way smoother than I expected and very teacher and student friendly. We are still learning how to navigate everything, but it is a good solid move to make our SE VW program more stable and current. My colleagues, Sinead and Shannon, are brilliant and are doing a fantastic job supporting the transition.

Google Classroom to Begin in September

Over the years, the program to support Special Education students using technology has grown and morphed in many ways. Through sometimes trial and error, we have sought to find what works best and parents and students have been amazingly supportive as they are requested to learn new technology and change things up at the start of most years. This school year of 2018-2019 is no exception. Over the last couple of years, we have used Google Docs to share lessons in our Virtual Classroom and Edmodo to post completed assignments and mark. This has worked reasonably well, however, there have been kinks and challenges that led us to search for a better alternative. HCOS has Google Suite for Education and is opening up the opportunity for us to use it for the SE VW program.
